The Exterior
The Jedi Temple stands high above the various buildings of the galactic City of Coruscant. Its tall spires, protruding from it massive base, can be seen for many miles unobstructed by that surrounding city scape. The Temple is a symbol of all that is good in the galaxy, a model of harmony. The five spires symbolize the way of the Jedi, and their climb toward true knowledge of the Force. The spires represent hope to those who have none, and are the foundation of peace and justice.
The tallest Central Spire is known as the Temple Spire, and is traditionally the most important, since it holds the ancient texts of the Founding Jedi, and is also a sacred place for contemplation.
The first of the four smaller spires is, of course, the Jedi Council tower. This is where the Twelve members of the High Council sit and debate the various facets of the Republic. This is the next most important tower after the Temple Spire, since the High Council has overall decision-making powers over the whole Jedi Order, and, thus, quite a bit of influence the Galactic Republic.
The next tower is that used by the Council of First Knowledge. This council takes care of matters requiring the wisdom of past Jedi Masters or Council members, and gives advice to the High Council, or most any Jedi who requests it.
The third spire is the Council of Reconciliation Tower, which seeks to find peaceful settlements to political disputes at home on Coruscant or off world in the Republic.
The fourth and last spire is the Reassignment Council Tower, which handles the organization of work for young Jedi who have not been chosen by Jedi Masters to be apprentices.
The five spires carries high gain communication transmitters, used to contact field Jedi or other off worlders as required by any of the four Councils. This is the main reason for the Temple's position high above any other buildings, where there is cilantro or no interference with the transmissions.
The Interior
Within the Temple walls lies the largest information center in the entire galaxy, the Jedi Archives. The Jedi Archives are a vast library that are comprised of knowledge and research dating back thousands of years. The Archives contain vast information concerning details on supposedly every planet and species in the galaxy.
Other areas with in Temple basically consists of just dormitories, meditation chambers, and conference rooms. The dormitories is where the Jedi stay when not training or carrying out orders from the Council. The meditation chambers are very quiet and peaceful rooms, so that the Jedi may converse with the Force. The conference room are areas where briefings and debriefing take place after missions is completed.
There is two other rooms in the Jedi Temple, and first one is the Room of a Thousand Fountains. It is quite extraordinary, and the name is quite literal. The water flows throughout the room like the Force flows through a Jedi.
The second lies in the heart of the Temple. You will find at the Temple's heart the main communications area. This network is where the Temple hold the Jedi Beacon that allows speedy contact between the Temple and Jedi without having to use the HoloNet.
